i need to get out more.

Sunday 24 May 2009

oh ck

its been floating around in my mind for a while...but i still don't know what to think about christopher kane's new collection...i like the tweed and grungey shapes and velvet and art deco-ey stripes...i think it'll grow on me...maybe just not as fast as the SS 09 collection did.

oh well. we'll see. :)

sexiest thing alive

I've had one of the Trussardi Menswear AW09 ads on my ceiling for a while now...basically because the guy in them was amazingly gorgeous. I honestly don't know why I didn't go and find out who he was earlier...but I did last night. His name's Nils Butler and he makes my eyes have sex with eachother.

i feel loooooooooove

I didn't really like Abbey Lee before this ad. I thought she was a bit too short and gap toothed, but this is beautiful. And she is Frida Giannini's muse, so she must be amazing.

I think i've become a gucci slave. :)

may grey

it's raining. i'm bored. i think i'll just chuck in a post about things i like right now, eh?

this song's been making me runway into school for weeks. i love it. :)

I have a new model of the moment for you. Olga Sherer. She has cheekbones to collapse for.

i'm having a thing for ryan mcginley photography. they're like jeurgen teller...only nudier. which is always fab.

oh and lastly...high up fringes. :) i like them at the moment.

yum yum!

here's the chloe show i kinda half promised...IN FULL. :) enjoy.

so bloody and wild

"As I kissed her goodbye, I said, " All beauty must die"
And lent down and planted a rose 'tween her teeth"

it's the kind of beauty you see in a different light every day, and it only ever gets more beautiful. every squint, every smile, every single movement it makes. They all grab me. It can't make a single step in the wrong direction, because it's the one that decides which way is wrong, in my opinion. It has slowly become the benchmark from which i measure others, which considering the sheer amount of measuring others I do, is quite an accomplishment. It's the reason I still get that feeling that something good could happen, that happiness isn't an unrealistic concept. It's also the reason that those hopes are dashed. It's a beauty that is simply out of my reach. Out of my league. Beyond my previously quite wide and formidable understanding. A wise man once said that a flower is always at it's most beautiful right before it dies. if that were true, it would seem that i won't be suffering for much longer.

weeing myself over Chloé

well, i've always been quite a Chloé fan, even last season's collection was fabulous. rushed and skimpy looking i suppose, but fabulous all the same.

but Hannah MacGibbon has outdone herself this time. There was bound to be that 70s glamour feel that her and Frida Giannini are fond of (wavy long hair, bohemian silhouettes), but this fall's collection was moving a bit more into the early 80s. I could see Molly Ringwald in the Breakfast club wearing pretty much all of it, besides the odd floaty dress (which i thought there was a rather heinous amount of by the way). There were oversized blanket coats, rolled up Chinos, the prettiest little tan boots, leather shorts, tassles and a lot of draped hips. Oh, and black velvet, which is always a good thing in my eyes. AND THE MAKEUP, it got me giddy too. Eyebrows and cheekbones everywhere. It was actually like one of those crazy pictures you see in hairdressers...you know, the really old ones where the girls have bad hair and their faces are made of like, airbrushed plastic. Anyway, I'm in school so I can't post videos (maybe later, if i'm in the mood), but here's three of my favourite looks. Enjoy!

fire your publicist

right seriously, its beyond funny now

I officially dislike Katy Perry.

She's used to the old controversy, clearly. After Ur So Gay and I Kissed a Girl, she ruffled pretty much every militant's feathers. The conservatives thought it was blasphemous, the militant gay community thought both songs were an offensive portrayal of GBLT life, and the others just liked to dance to it.

Then there came the knife photo. haha, this was when i first started to doubt she was the sharpest knife in the drawer (LMAO PUN). I know its just a knife, but with all that knife crime shit going around, she could've had a little bit of tact.

AND AS IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH, she didnt apologize...but instead, spoofed herself with a picture of a spoon. wtf, that's not even funny.

well. back to the reason i made this post. she thinks it's trendy to have swine flu.

oh fuck off katy.
